Tahiti Beach

Here is an image of our current anchorage. The thin spit of sand appears and disappears with the tides. The break in the hills is Tilloo Cut and beyond the Atlantic Ocean. Daily the sand spit fills up with small dinghies from other boats in the anchorage and larger power boats that bring people from nearby islands. Tonight there is a full moon party at Cracker P's, a nearby restaurant so the anchorage filled up with boats. We caught up with many of the friends we have made over the past few weeks. Cindy and Rick are here aboard Reverie; Alan his brother Scott are here aboard Ennui Go, Jason and Brad are here aboard Sirius. You would never guess there are so many boats around from the image, but since we have a very shallow draft and can anchor in less than 5 feet of water, most of the other boats are off our stern. To snorkel we dinghy into the sand spit and then swim out to the coral along the rocky islands in the background.
Anne and I were pleasantly surprised to find a decent Wifi connection here in the anchorage. We downloaded Skype and spent the evening catching up with friends and family.
We plan to move a little further south tomorrow. This will put us in a good spot to get an early start on Sunday morning. The weather is looking favorable for us to sail south to Eluthera on Sunday. This is a 50NM open water crossing. Once we make the crossing to Eluthera then we will most likely remain on the Bahamas' Bank all the way down to Georgetown, Exumas.
This portion of our travels will be much more remote that the previous three weeks in the Abacos. We will do our best to call and email when technology allows.
