Shroud Cay II

With the morning low tide we realized that C'est la Vie was resting in less than 4' of water. With a soft, sand bottom under keel this was not a time for alarm, rather a time for projects. The ability to stand beside the hull in clear waters spurred us into a couple projects we were procrastinating. We changed the zinc on the prop, polished the lower sections of the bow sprit, and scrubbed on the hull.
After lunch the tide had raised enough to explore the interior. We motored through the mangroves and wound our way around the Exuma Sound side of the cay. From here we beached Origami and took a short hike up to Camp Driftwood. In the early 80's the US government mounted cameras with high power zoom lens along this ridge. The cameras recorded the identification of planes used for smuggling drugs as they took off from Norman's Cay.
We motored the outside northward and circumnavigated the upper half of Shroud before returning to C'est la Vie amidst afternoon showers (see image).
We observed large mega yachts in the Shroud Cay south anchorage. With the hope of pirating an open internet network we motored south.
