El Cid

28 March 2017
After a boisterous sail from Guanaja and a bit sleep deprived we tied up in Marina El Cid at Puerto Morelos in the afternoon of March 10th after a 46 hr sail for an average of 6kn/ hr.
Washed the salt off of C'est si Bon, had showers, washed clothing at the laundromat, then had dinner at the resort.
The crew went home on the 14th, and I picked up Clara at the airport the same day in a rented car. Our four kids and seven grandkids came a week later and just left today, school & work waiting for everyone back home. It was great to have the whole family here and it was sad to see them leave.
Thursday is when John Cormack & Gordon Peterson join me on the boat for the trip to Cuba. The wind forecast looks god for a Saturday departure, if I get my headsail back from the sailmaker. I had given the sail to a sailmaker in Guatemala to repair the sun protection strip but on the way I discovered no repairs were done even though he charged me $500 us.
