We flew from Sydney into Miri mid morning Tuesday 13th August. A lovely warm and sunny day, quite comfortable though and not too humid with it cooling down around 5pm and we didn't even need the fan on to sleep.

Charmar seemed to have weathered her stay at Miri well and managed to keep reasonably clean aided by some heavy rain that they had enjoyed prior to our arrival.

We dumped our bags, changed out of our Sydney winter clothes and were on our bikes into town to get the internet sorted. The first 3 days in Miri were eaten up with trying to get SIM cards and internet sorted, answering emails and dealing with a few office issues! Our SIM card was Celcom which worked extremely well in Sabah but not here, it appears that Digi is the favoured Sim in Sarawak but doesn't work so well at Puteri Harbour - the Celcom is lead performer once again!

We set up "office" at the Coffee Bean (free WiFi) on the first day, only intending to be a couple of hours turned out to be about 5 hours and well after dark without bike lights when we returned to the boat. The fountains put on a lovely display which we hadn't seen before, possibly not been there at night time!
