heres the view looking out front of our friends house we are caretaking. the photos do not even come close to conveying the beauty. nor the shapes-its very 3D here! no flat land around and its rare that the sea would be flat.

this is the house we are staying at for this 2 weeks. the owners are away on holiday, i work for the woman,Georgina, at her healthfood-eco emporium-shop in Castletownbeare. her husband is Tim Goulding, a renown artist. we are taking care of the 2 dogs and 3 cats. the location is just spectacular, nature is its raw and formative state of beauty. each window frames a glimpse of the rocky landscape and watery sea. inside the house are more views of all their friends pieces of art;paintings, weavings, ceramics, pottery, and more paintings. teh bookshelves are full and on this sunday we have the chance to just relax and browse all we want. its been a bit busy for us since arriving 7 weeks ago. this is the first day we wont get in car and go somewhere. we both took very long walks this morning up and down the hills in the morning sunshine. the brown and red autumn colors are soothing to the eye under the baby blue sky.
after 2 weeks we move into our own place, for long term-we hope. we are looking forward to getting settled finally. i look forward to making my nest all the style i like and unpack th boxes we sent over from NZ!

the is one of the West Corks Sailing School's keelboats out in Adrigole harbour. the school and center is just off to the left out of view. the mountain is called Hungry Hill or Cnoc Daod in Irish, its about 700 mts high which you cant see with the clouds. The waterfall in the middle, altho not fully flowing today is the highest in Ireland. the run off into the harbour can make for a significant current felt by the boats. tide looks like its about high, otherwise there are many more rocks ringing the harbour that one has to be carefull of.
altho i had been teaching sailing out here during the cold and wet of sept-oct, when i looked out to the scenery i was always in awe of the beauty. esp. when the sun shines its just magical.

when we arrive the sun was actually shining and everyone said it was the first time all summer. so our first couple weeks here the weather was actually warm enough at times in teh sunny day to dress like summer-in ireland. here i took mike to a town onthe coast south east of Cork city. it was lovely watching locals fishing, walking the rocky beach and teh high grassy cliffs along the shore.
