We made it back from the Cayman trip on Sunday November 13 after hugging the coast all the way up. Everyone was ready to get off the ship for a while but the crew worked through the next week.
Tina and I flew to Seattle to attend the RVTEC annual meeting. We met a bunch of other techs and discussed issues relating to the UNOLS fleet.
The final cruise of the year is underway CH1009 (tenth cruise of 09 on the Cape Hatteras) with Steve Ross as chief scientist.
We mobilized on Monday December 1 and left the dock on Tuesday to an ominous weather forecast. Gale Warnings starting in the early hours of Wednesday. Needless to say... we had some pretty good wind and waves but we did get a bunch of work done Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. After deciding that there was not much we could do out there and we were only a few hours from Beaufort, we returned to the dock and will depart later on today.
