Last night we did Otter Trawls. Otter Trawls are special nets which are towed behind the ship at approximately 1-2 knots and collect samples at the sea floor. We collected many vertebrates and non-vertebrates.
This morning we did a ctd to collect some water and do a water column profile. Then on to Box Cores. 12 of them. The last one we finished around 1800 hours in a steady 30 knots of wind - good size swells and driving rain. Couldn't have be much more fun. The wind has increased to 35 gusting to 40 so we tied everything down and the scientists got to cataloging and processing the samples.
