09/06/2010, 25 miles west of te well head
Saturday night at 8pm we started a line of 3 CTD stations starting northeast and working toward the wellhead. Yesterday we did a couple more CTDs later in the day closer to the wellhead. This morning at 3am we did a cast near where an Argo float was coming to the surface. Our data on that cast will be used to verify the data that the float is collecting. Cast depths so far range from around 900 - 1600 meters.
So far there has been no visible oil on the surface of the water.
Read more about Argo floats here: http://www.argo.ucsd.edu/
Weather: mostly sunny, 83 degrees, winds 10 knots, seas 2-4 feet
