I've very recently arrived back in nthe UK having completed a six years circumnavigation and it would appear for my sins I've stuck here for winter. I have a Perkins 4.236M 80HP Engine Which ahs without a shadow of a doubt been the best equipment aboard aboard throughout the whole six years. But after arriving in Falmouth crossing to St Mawes, the engine oil cooler, which is a combination cooler that also cools the gearbox oil, suddenly corroded through filling the engine sump with sea water, need I say more? I am now in search of a new cooler and appear to be up against it. The engine is not in production any more and I'm unable to locate a replacement. (any advice on where I might be able to pick one up, would be grately appreciated) I would much rather this had happend in Cape Town or somewhere warmer. on that point, I have to say, there has truly been NO place so expensive during my entire six years around the globe as the UK is now!! Now I'm depressed to some degree as I have to face Winter here in the UK after spending so many year in the tropic and sub-tropics. But I don't expect to venture far out in the cold weather. I do however, have some quite hairie, some very interesting and rather entertaining tales, which I intend to share with you all very soon in this sail blog.
