After the Easter holiday, things opened back up on Tuesday and we were lucky to get a last minute haul-out at Peake. They have a 50 ton travelift, which made it easy as we didn't have to drop the forestay.
Our work went extremely well and on schedule. In addition to sanding and painting the bottom, we pulled out the prop shaft to replace the cutlass bearing and also took off the forestay to straighten two foils that had gotten bent the last time it was off. Both were big jobs, but went fairly smoothly.
Everyone in the yard, staff and other boats included, were extremely helpful, lending a tool or hand whenever we needed. Peake is also a meticulously clean boat yard, making a somewhat uncomfortable stay on the hard much better.
Without a hitch, we were back in the water Monday afternoon. We are now just waiting on our pullpit which is being welded to allow us to fly a spinnaker off the pole in Antigua. It should be back this morning and, after a quick trip to PriceSmart (Trinidad's answer to Costco), we will be off for Antigua.
