VHF 16: "All Yachts All Yachts,...

11 June 2007 | Colon, Panama
Chris
..Good Morning this is the Yacht Cisnecito, Please Switch to Channel 74, Channel 74, for a special announcement. Cisnecito going up."

VHF 74: "All Yachts All Yachts, Good Morning this is the Yacht Cisnecito We have just completed our round the world voyage here in Colon and would like you to celebrate with us at the Panama Canal Yacht Club today beginning at 4PM. The first several rounds of drinks are on us. Hope to see you there. Cisnecito Out."

We made the above announcement several times on our VHF radio. Then at 4PM we put a $100 dollars down on the bar and asked the bartender to keep pouring until it was spent. In Panama $100 buys a lot of booze. The ensuing party was a lot of fun and we were glad to so many yachties showed up. One of the yachties asked us to talk a little about our trip which we were unprepared for but it was fun to have the opportunity. Later in the evening one of the boats asked us over for dinner which was also enjoyable. It was so nice to so many new friends to celebrate with.
