Isla Taboga

After a great weekend in Las Perlas, we were heading back to Panama City this afternoon and decided to anchor for the night off of the tiny island of Taboga. Although there was no wind and we had to motor for most of the day, it was an exciting trip. We saw several huge whales breaching and doing tale slaps and dozens of dolphins jumping through the air. We also hooked several skipjack but didn't keep any of them. We anchored in front of a quaint little town and had spotted mackerel (sierra) ceviche and grilled spotted mackerel (caught yesterday) for dinner while listening to some live music blaring from shore. Tomorrow morning we head back to Balboa Yacht Club to pick up a watermaker part being shipped from the US and do some other errands in town.
