Yesterday Deni, Ray and I rode bikes from Manhattan Beach up to Venice for the Abbot Kinney Festival. It was a beautiful day and there dozens of sailboats racing out in the bay as well as dinghies racing inside the breakwater. It was also clear enough to see Catalina in the distance. A few of our friends are out there this weekend for the opening of lobster season.

I kept thinking how wonderful it would be to have our boat here when we get back and to be able to do this on weekends with family and friends. I fly back to Costa Rica next week and will meet Chris and Andrew in Playas del Coco, up on the northwest coast. It's been a long six weeks of being apart - especially after living on a boat together for almost three years!
