Back in Sunny Mexico

Our goodbyes were not so sad this time, knowing we'll be home in just a few weeks. Chris and I had an uneventful trip down, making it back to La Paz just in time for dinner at Carlos and Charlies. It was not bad for a cheesy chain restaurant. We arrived back to the very nice marina to find Cisnecito in good shape and enjoyed a nice sleep in our own bed! We woke up early in the morning, surprised to find it already warm. Not that Newport Beach was all that cold, but it still felt good to feel the warmth of the sun.

Saturday we had a busy day cleaning and doing various projects on the boat and then went back into town last night for dinner, as we had zero food on board. There is a convenient shuttle that goes from the marina to town about 8 times a day which makes it easy. The bus driver had recommended the restaurant Tres Virgenes which turned out to be excellent. The restaurant is situated in sort of an open courtyard and there was an excellent jazz band playing. We shared grilled baby octopus, then Chris had lamb burritos and I had grilled pork tacos. I meant to get the shrimp but there was some confusion and I got the pork instead. Although not as healthy, it was fantastic. We enjoyed the music until late and had a really nice evening.

This morning Chris and Andrew finished up on the boat while I went into town to provision. The Soriana supermarket was huge and nice, but way out of town requiring a taxi back to the marina. I arrived back at 12:56 - just in time as we had to be off the dock by 1:00. We just filled up with diesel and will go out and anchor in front of town for the night and hopefully if the weather stays good, will leave for Cabo in the morning.
