Preparing to Sail

So here it is - the weather window we had been looking for for weeks. It was not the best, but also didn't look tood dangerous. We had been waiting out at Urupukapuka and decided to come into the Marina on Thursday evening for final preparations to leave Saturday morning. We got duty free fuel on our way in and decided to fill our gerry cans, thinking that we may have to do a fair amount of motoring. That night we had dinner with our friends on RAM - so fun to catch up.
We woke at 7am and rushed up to the laundry room to beat the crowd and to check the weather models. After a few minutes of examining, Chris decided we should leave that night. I rushed off to town for provisions and propane while he did final preparations on the boat. Finally at 3pm we were ready to go and went to check out with Customs, which is surprisingly easy in a country that speaks English and has relatively clear-cut rules. Robert and Kim threw us our dock lines at 4:00 and we were on our way. To Bundaberg, we think, but the winds may take us to New Caledonia.
