The Sandstroms

05 June 2005 | Papeete, Tahiti
Chris
We got a chance to meet the Sandstroms in Papeete. They are one of the old school cruising families. They built their catamaran back in the 60s and have sailed around the world at least twice. Now their son cruises their boat.

Their book ?There and Back Again" chronicles the trials and tribulations of a family sailing around the world in very candid form. It is a pre-email series of letters which tells the story of their adventures. I highly recommend it for any family considering cruising.

Don told me that he recently drilled in to the hull of their home-built trimaran to check for moisture and she was dry as a bone. Just goes to tell you how far a little diligence goes when putting together your own boat.
