Sunset in the Indian Ocean

We have seen more than our share of beautiful sunsets on this trip, but nothing so far can compare to those we have seen over the Indian Ocean. The sky turns the most vivid shades of red which persist even long after the sun has actually set. We try to time it so that we can enjoy the beautiful display over dinner each night. One of the most distinctive things about this trip is that, for the most part, we have been constantly traveling west, meaning the sunset is always off the bow of the boat.
Also beautiful are the sunrises, which take place behind us in the east. Although not quite as spectacular, on passage I tend to prefer the sunrise for the things it brings, most notably twelve hours of light. Although the night can be quite peaceful, I am always thankful for daybreak and there is nothing I look forward to more than watching the sunrise with a good cup of coffee.
