A Bit of Breeze

After making all of 99 miles on Weds, the wind finally filled in a bit in the morning and we had a steady 10-15 knots all day Thurs. Unfortunately it was from almost dead behind, so not a very fast point of sail given the amount of wind. But in any case, we were just glad to be moving. We sailed along quietly at about 5-6 knots with relatively calm seas, save for the occasional rogue wave to shake things up. In the afternoon we caught two yellowfin tunas. They were small enough that we didn't even have to slow the boat down to bring them in, but large enough to make a great sushi dinner. I sort of feel like that was a little gift to make up for the less-than-ideal conditions out here.
We have about 325 miles to go, and once again, the gribs say that the wind should be filling in today. It is a spectacular morning. The full moon is still high in the sky ahead of us while the sun is rising from behind. We are hoping that, with a little cooperation from the wind, we will make landfall by Sunday.
