Raining Fish

03 April 2007 | Off the Coast of Surinam
Julie
It's been overcast and a little rough all day, but we are doing 9-10 knots so cannot complain. I'm not sure if it's the full moon or perhaps our speed, but the flying fish are particularly active tonight. I'd say that within the last hour, at least ten fish have flown on board, most of them hitting the dodger before bouncing off to either side and getting caught in the toe rail. We recently watched the movie "Magnolia" and it reminds me of the scene at the end where it is raining frogs...except that it is raining fish.
