Wind and Fish!

We finally awoke to great wind (actually a squall), and have been averaging well above 8 knots. And not only that, but five minutes after we put the lines in the water this morning, we caught a mahi-mahi. Not huge, but enough for a little ceviche at lunch and four small filets for dinner. Such a treat! I actually killed the guy with my bear hands (held him down until he stopped flopping) which felt extremely inhumane, but we couldn't find the gaffe and we had to deal with sails. Then I fileted him too. That was a bit much before 8am, but well worth it.
We've gone about 1,000 miles in 10 days. That is not great, but now that the wind has turned on, we should be able to average at least 150, and hopefully more like 200 miles a day. At this point we have another 1900 miles to go and I'd say we should be there in about two weeks. Crazy, but that doesn't even sound like a long time anymore. There are 24 boats out here that we talk with on the net, and about 10 in close proximity to us which is a comforting fact.
