1175 Miles to Go!

The wind is still pretty good but the seas are huge. We've seen breakers up to 20ft, but the boat has been handling amazingly well, averaging between eight and nine knots. We saw a fishing boat really close to us yesterday which is the first boat we've seen since leaving.
Yesterday I made french bread which turned out great and for for dinner I made mahi cooked in white wine with tomatoes, capers and olives. And Tara made lemon cake for dessert. I actually feel like we're eating better than we do at home much of the time!
We have been doing lots of cleaning and miscellaneous boat projects to pass the time. We are now about 1175 miles from Hiva Oa and hope to arrive within the week. I must say that I am looking forward to a nice meal in a restaurant a good night of sleep in a stationary boat!
