With Dan and Tara off the boat, we left from Bora Bora on our first passage with just the two of us. It was an easy sail, just 500 miles southwest to Raritonga, the largest island in the Cook's. We did six hour watches, me from 6-12pm and Chris from 12-6am, and it was surprisingly easy. We had brought a lot of tropical fruit which we later read would be confiscated by Agriculture in the Cook's, so we gorged ourselves on pinapple, mangoes and papaya for the three days we were at sea. The sail was great??"we beam reached the whole way, averaging 7+ knots.
