Spearfishing Again

Today was a beautiful day, one of our first with out a cloud in the sky. We put the sun awning up as it looked like it would be overly hot. Fortunately mid morning a nice breeze picked up. After squaring away some minor boat items we decided to take a trip over to Punta Casa Sola on the other side of the anchorage. Supposedly there is an abandoned house with mangoes, limes, and other fruit growing wild, plus a couple of fresh water streams some of which have alligators. We went way up one of the mangrove lined estuaries which was interesting. There is a canopy over the narrow parts of the estuary and lots of wild life. We also found a fresh water stream but no luck on the wild fruit or alligators.
After the rain forest river tour, we decided to go back to the beach on outer side of Espirtu and just snorkel with the fish. We also brought our spearguns in case something looked good for dinner. Surely enough, after about a half an hour of looking over the reef, we spotted something that looked like a coral cod or flowery cod (grouper) hiding under rocks. There were a couple of them and they would come out whenever we left the area. After stalking them for about 45 minutes we had three onboard the dinghy which is plenty and decided to call it a day.
