Janelle and Kim Arrive

10 October 2007 | Mata Cana, Costa Rica
Chris
Our long time family friend, Janelle and my sister, Kim, flew to Liberia and took a taxi to Playa del Coco to join us for a week. We met them at the bus stop in Playa del Coco which is right on the beach. We were busy making last minute preparations like fuel, provisions and permissions to visit the Murcielagos islands when they arrived.

We had lunch at a restaurant on the beach and then went to make arrangement for "canopying" which Kim really wants to do. Of course the functionary which controls the permissions to visit the Murcielagos was not available again so we did not get permission yet. This is my fifth visit to that office with no success. Frankly the paper work for yachts in Costa Rica is ridiculous.

We headed out to Playa Panama which is 3 miles north of Playa del Coco and much less rolly and more protected than Playa del Coco. On the way there, we decided to check out Mata Cana which was perfect. It is just below the Four Seasons Resort. We dropped the anchor is 15 feet of water. It was perfectly calm and the beach looks nice.

Andrew made fish and chicken tacos for dinner. It was Janelle's 30th birthday last Sunday. So Julie surprised her with a little orange cake. It was lots of fun. Janelle is blowing out her candles one for each decade above.
