Marina Puesta Del Sol

25 October 2007 | Nicaragua
Julie
We arrived yesterday around noon and were very pleasantly surprised by how nice the marina is. It's a bit up a river so it's very protected and the grounds are beautiful. There is laundry, a restaurant, two pools, a hotel, wireless internet, and very helpful staff. There are also quite a few Americans who have been here for the season and full of good info. The check-in was fairly easy - the officials all came onboard and were very pleasant except for the immigration officer who was clearly having a bad day.

I have done eight loads of laundry and lots of cleaning and think that I have finally gotten rid of all traces of rainy season in Costa Rica. Chris has also been busy with boat projects, but we are going to take a break and travel inland tomorrow morning. We're headed down to Lake Nicaragua to climb volcanos and ride horses. We are not really sure what to expect, but we have heard good things. The one thing we do know is that we have a long day of bus rides ahead of us (starting at 5am) and this time will be sure not to let our bags out of arms reach.
