In the T-pec

Chris
Okay all three weather forecast called for an average of 25 knots of wind in the Gulf of Tehuantepec and we have less than three knots. I hope they did not mean that half the time we would have 0 knots and the other half 50 knots. Here we are hugging the shore in shoaling waters, two reefs in the mainsail, storm jib ready to go, and safety harnesses on and the wind is a no show. Earlier in the morning at the edge of the ominous area for wind we saw gusts to the low 30 knots and decided to heave to expecting it to be really heavy further on. There was also quite a bit of current with us which would make sense if it was really blowing as the sea level actually drops in the Gulf during high winds which can cause crazy currents. Hopefully the wind is coming a little later because I want to go fast.
