Turtle Soup

15 November 2007 | Puerto Escondido, Mexico
Chris
On our way Puerto Escondido from Puerto Angel we passed one of the most important natural turtle egg laying beaches. It was incredible how many turtles there were in the water. We saw over a hundred of them bobbing around on the surface. Every so often they would put their heads up to look at us and then blow some bubble and dive beneath the surface. We actually narrowly missed hitting several of them.

We made Puerto Escondido by the afternoon and checked in with the Port Captain who was very nice and wanted to speak English. We walked around and then settled down at a beach front restaurant for beers, margaritas, and coconuts.
