I was browsing photos on the computer and came across this one of Kiley & Jackie's dog Danny. She allows glasses on her nose and I make fun with her at every opportunity. This looks a bit like a Jack Nicholson type pose from One Flew over the Cockoo's Nest.

Al returned to SMOL this morning after another successful weekend. He mostly ambulated with his quad cane. He has learned how to use the free phone for patients on his floor so he calls me on occasion. This afternoon he called to say he forgot the iPod(not to be confused with the iPad.). It took a bit of work on my part to figure out his concern, but he stuck with it and did not get frustrated. So in the area of communication he is most definitely improving. He is loving the iPad and uses his iPod for music. The fact he is interested in using these things is a big leap. Early on he was disinterested in most things but he is getting spirit and enjoyment back in his life. He seems down less and less. Its a new beginning for sure.
