Extra:
Alistair and Jennifer are a couple who met in 2007 after Jennifer survived a stroke in early 2006 and lost her husband to cancer the same year. Al had been a life long sailor and after dating several months Al suggested a lifestyle on a boat, cruising. Jennifer had no sailing experience and was mildly concerned about her diminished physical capabilities but in the end decided to give it a try. Together they purchased a 30 ft C&C Redwing that they readied and practiced on for a couple seasons, In July ’09 they left their home port of Collins Bay, Kingston, Ontario with the Florida Keys in their sights. After challenges with their Atomic 4 engine and combined with Jennifer limited abilities they started contemplating moving to a trawler. The stars aligned and in February 2010 they purchased their 1977 Marine Trader DC to continue their travels. Jennifer has been able to regain some mobility in her left hand through the art of Knitting with some adaptations. Because Alistair had entered Jennifer’s life at a time when all seemed hopeless, it seemed fitting to call their new home and life together, Close Knit.
We were joined in March 2010 by Miss Bridget a mini Daxie, she has the title 'Security Officer'
