Happy St. Patrick's Day
We were up and heading out of our anchorage at 8:33 this morning, destination is Cocoa Village. Al needs to visit the Travis hardware store there and I will take the opportunity to poke around in Sit & Knit, I also need to get size 17 needles for a very unique Curly Q scarf I want to make. We hope to explore some of the antique stores and take our time and enjoy this quaint older Floridian town. A late lunch or dinner to celebrate St. Paddy's day might be in order.
Bridget will get her first dingy ride and have a chance to use her land legs. She really has been finding this transition difficult. She acts visibly confused.
We failed to mention yesterday that we were 5 miles from the launch pad at the Kennedy Space center. It was easily in our view from 20 miles away coming down the waterway. Although we could see the last launch from Palm Coast, we can imagine it must have been a spectacular view from the waters at Mosquito Lagoon and Titusville.

Well we bypassed New Symerna & made it to Titusville as we were making such good time. Tomorrow we are heading for Coco Beach Village one of Jennifer's favorite places, to say nothing of one of the biggest hardware stores ever!!!!! We had a good trip with no problems, although the water got a little skinny in spots but nothing to really worry about, A word to all the Skippers out there. I had my engine RPM's read at the flywheel & found that the lower helm rpm display was showing 475 rpm's over & the Fly bridge was 200 over, food for thought, We have been running the new Ford Lehman 120 at 1200 instead of the 1800 we used to do & we are only losing about 1 -1 1/2 MPH & hopefully saving a bunch on fuel!!!

Emotions Abound
Just after 9:30 on Tuesday (March 15)we busted the spell of Palm Coast Marina. There were many gathered dockside to wish us farewell. Hugs and goodbyes were exchanged. Flowers were thrown ( apparently if this is done it means you'll be back). Pete in his usual style discharged his miniature cannon. We responded with our new gazillion decible horn. Not to be out done, Pete returned to Prim to sound her horn. OK, Prim wins hands down. We travelled in sunshine to Daytona at a leizurely speed. Saw dolphin, always a delight that warms my heart. We met more northbound boats than south bound. We chose the anchorage at mile marker 831. We set anchor without any difficulty. Al did boaty things, and threw a fishing line. I knit and did dinner preparations, we had salad, bbq'd chicken and fresh bread. After supper when the sunset we settled in to watch a movie, it was intense called 127 Hours. It weighed on my mind and I had a poor sleep. Thankfully the person at the helm slept well.
Bridget is finding the transition hard. She was begging to be taken ashore for her duties. After much encouragement we got her to relieve herself on her pooch pad. We have assured her she is loved and that she will again get used to this lifestyle.
We had a call from out friends Bill and Karen of s/v Island Moon. They had just landed at Lake Worth after returning from the Bahamas, so we will keep in contact and hope to rendezvous with them this weekend on the waterway. It will be great to see them and to hear how their Bahamas adventure was.
On another note, I got to helm CK out of the anchorage while Al did the anchor raising and cleaning. Being at the helm has always been daunting to me, I was happy that I did it with out incident OR instruction. We were on our way by 9:20, destination unknown.

Four years ago today marks the first day Al and I laid eyes on each other. We had met and communicated on line for 3-4 weeks then agreed to meet in person when he returned to Canada after living on his 53' sailboat in Trinidad. He agreed to meet me after an Appointment I had, turned out he met me in the lobby at St. Mary's of the lake Hospital. He recognized me immediately and there was no me mistaking him as he was the most tanned person in the lobby. He gave me a hug, planted a kiss on my cheek, took my hand and out we walked hand in hand to his 4x4. The rest is history.
