Twenty Bridges

Yup that's right, we had to go under 20 bridges today. The good part is we only had to ask for 5 to open for us. The rest we fit under, (reasons for owning a trawler and not a sail vessel with a 60+ ft mast).
Tonight we are snug in /Lake Boca Rotan. It feels a bit funny as we are surrounded by mostly high rise apartments along with one sail boat from Colorado. The water has been changing before our eyes. Its turning aqua blue and for the first we can see our anchor chain for 5 to 6 feet. Very Cool.

We hadn't planed to put in a 10 hour day but the recommended anchorage we were headed toward was shallow and Al wasn't comfortable staying, (we ran aground, but backed out), although I think it was on the rise and we likely would have been OK. We had a couple other options but I had my eyes on this place.

Tomorrow we have a 16-mile run to Fort Lauderdale where we will spend the weekend. We hate weekend fishing boats!!!!!!

Al, Side note:- One thing about Stuart was the planes during the day & the train horns all day/night long. & as I type this I hear a train horn..... )(*(&^%^

Ran into a couple of cruisers on a boat named Azar. Al and Lisa. Had a nice talk with them and as I was describing how I met you they said they knew you too. What a small world.

As far as I know there is only one railroad going north and south.
So you can't get very far away from it.

Thank you for the Photo compliment.
We have a 63 and a half foot mast, going under some of those bridges, YIKES. Sounds like you are having a great trip further south, Well except for Peck Lake. Are you spending the summer in the Keys?We head North any day now, once a weather window opens up, off to the Chesapeake. Cheers for no.

Well we are anchored in Peck lake. If it wasn't for the high winds & the idiots in the big sport fishing boats, it would be a nice place. We went ashore to the Atlantic Ocean side & waded in the Ocean, the beach was deserted for miles, & beautiful. Getting back to the Sport fishing boats, We had one idiot who went passed us 4 times throwing huge wakes, guess he thought it was fun. Well we called the Coast Guard, & us & 2 other boats reported him, hope he get a biG ass fine!!!!!!

We are finally leaving Stuart later this morning & will be doing a very short hop to Peck Lake, to spend the rest of the day/night on the beach., and then up early tomorrow & put in a long days run. Hope to be in Fort Lauderdale by Friday where we will spend the weekend hiding from the weekend sport fishing boats!!!!!! & then to Miami on Monday for a few days & then the KEYS.....

MIAMI VICE THEME Click here for the intro video
We were supposed to leave tomorrow am, but the forecast had 30MPH wind on the ICW for tomorrow, so we decided to stay another day. Now the forecast makes no mention of the high winds, so we will see tomorrow what they forecast & make our decision then. Anyone who tracks us via Spot will see if we move tomorrow, & if we do we may only go to Peck Lake for the day/night.
We had decided to bypass Miami, but our next door neighbors gave us great info about anchoring in & around Miami. They ended staying 3 1/2 weeks!!!! We have also found a Marina, right downtown, music, lights right on the main street shopping/ night clubs, all the big names, etc not a place if you want to sleep, but hey we are only young once!!!!! MIAMI VICE here we come, remember Tonia? we were hooked on that program....

Today I prepared a feast, lamb chops, sweet potato, onion, tomatoes and asparagus. Yum, it was divine. After Al does the clean up we will head to shore for showers and walk to the ice cream shop for dessert. It was a great easter.
