Well today started really good. The guys arrived with the transmission & oil cooler hoses, removed the transmission thankfully from the cart before the cart ended up in 11ft of water with the hoses!!!
One of the guys striped by his undies & tried to retrieve them, but no luck. They called in a diver who found one, but said it was very muddy on the bottom, so they took the one they had & had another made up (their expense). After hooking everything up, came time to test it. Forward, Great. Neutral Great. Reverse Woops no reverse. A call to Jim the guy who rebuilt the new one, who suggested it may be the reverse band that needs adjusting, & it was something I could do.... No way I am not touching it not after the money I paid him. Anyway he came over removed one washer tightened up the adjusting bolt & it turned. Removed another & it seems to be working perfectly. The guys who installed it will call tomorrow & arrange a time for a sea trial.
We are considering after all this expense, that we may stop off at HaborTown Marina on Merritt Island. its on the Canaveral Canal a few miles from Coca Village It looks really nice & would be 1/2 the price of Palm Coast, but have not totally made up our minds, also waiting to hear if they can put us up for 2-3months. Has all the usual amenities, including a dog walk & A POOL... Also we could haul the boat there as we have to do the bottom this year. Anyone been there? Also my youngest, Tonia, is coming in Sept to visit Universal (Harry Potter World) in Orlando, & it would be a shorter day trip from there. Also she would like to go to the Space Center (so would I).
Jennifer is flying back to Miami on Tuesday, & hopefully we will be out of here Wednesday, weather permitting. We have been having big T-storms & lots of rain. The rain they need but the thunder & lightning I don't need if out on the open Florida Bay.

Louis called this afternoon, to say he picked up the tranny, & will be here 8am tomorrow morning to install it, then go out for some sea trials. Very exciting, except for the getting back into the dock. We are right at the back with very little wiggle room to swing the boat around & against the dock, it was easy with Towboat US & their twin outboards!! It is going to call for VERY slow speed & long dock lines to swing us & pull us in. Jennifer is booked to fly back Tuesday & we will be leaving early Wednesday as soon as I have returned the rental car. A stop for fuel $$$$$ & then to drop the anchor at Islamorada.

A post of the room finished with the new floor. I need to buy a new register cover. The girls arrived back from Ithica at 9 and we were unloaded by 12, having supper at 11 pm. I will leave them to unpack boxes today since I will be heading back to Marathon hopefully next week to bring CloseKnit further North I'll savour my last few days in Kingston. I'm happy to report I stuck to my committment of clearing the basement of my stuff and to stay focused I didn'y make plans for socializing. So I'll try to see a few friends in the next week. I have an xray to get and some fasting bloodwork to get before I bust too. Its been a productive visit home.
Would love to know who it is from Aberdeen Scotland, who is reading our blog

Just received a call from Jim Pierce, the transmission is now ready. He will call Louis to arrange to have it reinstalled. Needless to say our pockets are much lighter, but the good news is, that it turns out, that our ebay purchase was a real jem. it was in "like new condition" inside. Jim only had to put in new seals, although most were good, but we decided to replace them all while he was doing it. Jennifer will be returning next week to C.K. to help bring her back to Palm Coast. Now all we have to do is dodge the thunderstorms that have been around for the past 2 weeks.

We're talking colour, not the place. Its the colour Kiley painted the bedroom she's been working on. Notice the dated tacky floor. Tomorrow I have a man hired to lay the new floor. I'll take a post photo. Tomorrow is the big day that J moves in with Kiley. Tonight she will arrive with her pets , four of them, thats right folks, four more to add to the already three here. This brings the menagerie to 4 cats, and 3 dogs. Sharon, Jessie Bruce, Danny, Turtle, Charlie, Finnegan and Levi. Tomorrow K&J will take the rental truck back to Ithaca, NY to fetch J's furniture and any remaining boxes. I have offerred to prepare dinner for them, and the Help (Gareth & Alison) I'm still on a cuban fixation so Picadillo it will be. YUM andStrawberry SparkleCake.
