Monday Randomness aka Monday Moanin'
Al is researching material on the net for our upcoming November trip across Lake Okachobee to the West coast. I have been knitting and inventing new words. I have been reading through screens and screens on Wikipedia trying to submit and publish my new word. It is a very onerous task and I may be giving up.
My new word is "Husbner". A Husbner its a cross between a husband and a partner. A person whom you have a relationship with in all aspects of a marriage but whom you are not legally wed.
This thought process, word and definition was born out of wanting an appropriate name for my sweet pea, Alistair.
Al is not my husband by definition and once when I refered to him as my partner while chatting on a plane, the aqaintance assumed I was a lesbian. I feel I am too old to refer to him as my "boyfriend", so I thought the english language needed a new word and defintition. Pardon me if I used "whom" incorrectly . I missed that day in English class.
I thought it prudent to post a current photo of my husbner and me while out to dinner at a nice Italian restaurant last Friday night. Red shoes and all. My arm is covering my friend Betty Boop, the top I bought at Universal.

We bid farewell to Tonia this morning. Miss B will miss the extra attention Tonia showered upon her. The visit seemed to fly past. We enjoyed having Tonia and we had fun at Universal even thoigh at times we wondered why we had agreed to pay money to be frightened half to death, The Mummy ride almost did us in, and Al hasn't quite forgiven Tonia for luring him onto that one. YOWZAH. Harry Potter ride was a bit frantic but we managed to do it 3 times for me and 4 for Al. I got brave and did the Dragon Challenge with Tonia, suffice it to say I survived it but until Pigs fly I won't be doing it again. It may take us 10 days to recuperate from this visit.

RUCKUS IN THE SUNSHINE STATE
We've gone national. The article I was interviewed for appears in the October 2011 issue of Soundings. They could not use the photo they requested because it was not high definition enough for their format. The article is well done and its kind of neat to see your name and homeland and opinions quoted in a popular cruising magazine. Somehow I need to figure out how to get published in a knitting magazine or some health magazine for continued stroke recovery.
We did two exhausting days at Universal Studios and one day at Magic Kingdom. I was in the Magic Kingdom with my girls when they were 10 and 3. Some of it still feels very magical and I teared up when the lights went down and the Electrical Parade began. Tinkerbell flew across the sky to start the spectacular fireworks that framed the Magic Castle. I was surprised by the emotion that was evoked. I think it was the notion that when I was there 21 years ago I had no way of knowing what my life would be like in 2011. I was snapped back into the moment when the commentary over the loud speaker reminded us every day was a celebration.
Today is a lounging around the pool day and catching up with laundry. A day for these older bodies to recuperate.

Yes its true I purchased a new family car for me. We traveled north to Palm Coast on Saturday to visit Pete & pokey, they had wanted to meet Tonia and we had about 30 books for Pete to read that I wanted off the boat. Thirty books is a lot of valuable real estate. While there I talked with Meg who is the yacht broker there Meg also sells and rents kayaks and bicycles. I looked over the lot and test drove 2. I was pretty specific about what I wanted. I settled on the 10 foot Heritage, it is a sit on top, very stable and tracks very nicely. I didn't try but I suspect Bridget could easily travel with me. We left it behind, after Tonia's visit we will go back to bring it home to the boat. Meg was a good sport and included the paddle and back rest, I'm looking forward to exploring the wild life refuge near by.
In other news we are enjoying Tonia here and we spent a full day at Universal yesterday and had an amazing time at Harry Potter world. I have not been a big reader of the series but the park was outstanding. I think we walked about 10 miles - no joke. Please see our Picassa photos of our day there. Today is a down day - kinda. A trip into town for a bit of shopping and going to the post office is in order.

Ok its not a garden yet, but the seeds have been planted.....in my brain, thanks to Snoodletime, who cultivates my knitting creativity. Steve aka Snoodletime has been very supportive of my knitting on the boat. I guess since he takes some credit for our boat name he feels compelled to support the knitting theme. Look for gardens being knitted on Close Knit.
Tonia arrived safely yesterday. We opted to not go to HP today because thousands of christian gospels singers were gathering there today. I'm not opposed to christian gospel singers but since I lean more left of center we'll wait until Monday when their convention is over. Ok I must knit flowers.

I arrived back on CloseKnit on Tuesday, plane maintenance and weather played a bit of havoc and my luggage did not arrive with me. It was how ever delivered by 12:45 that night. Wednesday was spent settling in , getting groceries and doing last minute clean up for Tonias arrival today. I have a pulled pork brewing in the crock pot for supper tonight. We'll watch the weather closely as there are plans to go to Harry Potter world and the Magic Kingdom during her visit.
In other news we purchased a 22 inch HD television, man are we getting fancy or what?
