April Already, Time Flies

Where does time go? Al and I have been in our new apt. a whole month. It has been nice having space, long baths with unlimited hot water, and having a place to entertain and get reacquainted with our family and friends. We are happy with our home furnishings. So I think Al misses the boating more than I do, but I have a great social life here so I am busy, busy, busy. As word spreads that I am back, my involvement in Stroke survivor initiatives will increase. I have a talk booked for the 19th so it will be fun to ease back into supporting stroke survivors.

Tonight I'm giddy about a KNIT night with my girlfriend Anne. I was organizing my knit Bagsmith for the evening. As you can see I have several WIPS, and I just had to show off my new shoes. I left a few pairs of really nice shoes on the boat. I had to choose between bringing shoes or yarn. The yarn won so now I'm on a mission to replace shoes to have in Kingston. All that is missing is a really nice pair of RED shoes. I have tarts in the oven for our tea and knitting tonight. I have a lunch date with a former employer. Al is keeping himself busy wheeling and dealing on Ebay.

I have been noticing that guest posts on blogs is becoming popular. I am lining up a guest to interview and feature on this blog so do stay tuned.

Can't you serve the tarts their tea at the table like everyone else?

You have impressed me with your French and now Latin??? I had to ask what Tempus Fugit meant.

Ha, well learning a second language is on my bucket list. Having medically retired from a medical background, most medical terms come from latin derivitives. Also on our travels some boat names we have seen are latin terms. Seize the Day in latin is another common boat name.

Addendum to last. Carpe Diem is Seize the Day.

The three chairs returned Friday. Charlene had them complete in a week. I am pleased. And they look lovely. This completes the furniture, we just need artwork. We will collect that as we find pieces we love. Mackenzie came for a two day visit. She being our first over night guest. She says the bed was comfortable. With setting up our new abode mostly behind me this week I've filled with social activities with girlfriends, lunches, pedicure.........whoa.

Canada Blooms

My sister and I did a road trip to Toronto yesterday to Canada Blooms and Home Show. We both felt the show is not as good as it was when we first started going 5 years ago. But we did see some amazing blooms and unique gardening ideas. We walked for miles. Mant people on our tour brought home plants but I thought a road trip would be rough on them. What I did get consumed with and bought was 6 pieces of Cutco knife ware. It was pricey but it was easy for me to use and I do love to cook. So having knives that work with ease is going to be wonderful. I purchased their peeler and on demonstration it was a charm to use. It was a long day of walking and I arrived home just before my youngest daughter arrived for a wee visit for a couple of days. She has some Kingston errands to run and we will knit. Today is going to be super exciting because this is the day all the furniture makes its way home. The china cabinet I had refinished from my parents is being delivered and the three covered chairs come back. I'm over the top to see them. The only thing we need to pull this home together is some art work. The only picture I have hanging is a picture my youngest gave her dad and I the Christmas before he passed away. It is a picture I have always loved called "Dance me to the end of Love" by Frank Vetriano (sp). When she arrived last night she squealed with delight to see it was out of storage.

Gee Jen, when I first looked at your picture of the flowers, I thought, 'you have only been home a few weeks, how did you ever do that?'. I went to Canada Blooms years ago, it was lovely.
I can't wait to see your chairs!

Tour de Pets Over

Al and I returned to our place last night after 5 days of pet sitting. Seven animals is a handful. My daughter got in Pet Parade Plus for walking the dogs and we were in charge of the rest. Three of the cats were terrified of Bridget and we rarely saw them. She got along with the dogs nicely and it was hilarious to see her run with the big kids when we let the gang out each morning to run in the yard. She was often first out of the gate, running as fast as she could to the back of the yard, then would stop in her tracks as if to say "ok what do I do next"? I am looking forward to hearing about the trip to the Big Apple and we are enjoying less animal hair in our own domain.

Here are the three odd ball chairs we scored. They are quirkey yet charming to us. Below, I hope is the photo of our chosen fabrics.

Hey, none of that dump the blog stuff. How are we supposed to keep track of you? All's well here in PC although it would be better with you two and Miss B. Hello from the whole gang at PCM. The green chair will be cool with a drink holder hanging off the port side, maybe running lights.

The photo doesn't do justice to the fabrics we chose for the chairs to re-purpose. The textures are quite lovely, in our opinions.
