Our Friends & Families Are Not So Far Away..

Technology has helped us keep in touch with our friends and families. Occasionally, we get wi-fi on the boat which allows us to email and lookup information online. Sometimes we can pick up a strong and consistent enough wi-fi signal to use Skype to make telephone calls. This is a great service, and it allows us to call anywhere in the world for 2 cents a minute.

Earlier this week I was able to speak with my family via Skype. For those of you who don't know, my Dad was recently diagnosed with cancer. I've been keeping in touch with my Dad to get updates from him on his condition and treatment. My Dad has chosen to have surgery to remove the cancer, and his operation will be on Monday, March 24th (right after Easter Sunday.) For all who read our blog, we hope you'll send out a little extra prayer that day for a smooth and speedy recovery for my Dad. I know he will appreciate the kind thoughts, and we feel blessed to have such great friends and families.

If you've considered cruising, but never had the ability to cut the ties to land, contemplate this quote from Mark Twain....."Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do.
