Some Fun

21 May 2008 | 7:00pm, at anchor in Turtle Bay
Melissa
It's Tuesday night, and just as predicted the winds are starting to pick up in the anchorage. We'll be stuck on the boat the next few days with the wind and swell, so we'll probably get our share of reading, card games, computer time, movies, and talking w/other boats on the radio.

The last few days, we've done some fun things to keep ourselves occupied as we wait for better traveling weather. Dana on Windblown is a fantastic cook, so she made a chocolate pie (from scratch) and we got together and talked and shared it. That was a nice time. Also, Dana is a hairdresser, so for the first time this trip, I am embarrassed to say, I got my hair cut. Just in time to go home and get back to the working world, eh? We've also enjoyed patronizing a little restaurant in town each day for lunch or breakfast. I think between the 6 of on Windblown, Zephryus, Second Wind we've tried everything on the menu. I know, I know...the tough decisions we make each day. But, we're making the best of our time here in Turtle Bay. I know we're getting antsy to move on, but we won't do so until it's safe.

If you've considered cruising, but never had the ability to cut the ties to land, contemplate this quote from Mark Twain....."Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bow lines. Sail away from the safe harbor. [...]
