Coba Libre Adventures to Aus

We have arrived in Boston after staying a few days on anchor in Camden and Gloucester, pretty little Harbours on the Maine Coast.
We had two days off when we arrived in Boston and decided to buy the Hop on Hop off bus tour which was a fantastic way to see town it was 34 bucks plus a free River Tour and free tours of Havard and Cambridge University !
We are staying near USS Constitution in Charlestown which is a lovely little marina and town isn't too far away and obviously went to see Old Iron Sides which has beaten the British twice in battle, We are leaving Harbour tomorrow to anchor off a little island not to far out of Boston to save some money on the expensive marina fees then coming back into Harbour on Sunday to pick up the guests again which are going to New York for 4 days .

Bar Harbour
07/19/2011, Maine, USA

We anchored off Negro Island for the evening before sailing an overnight passage to enter the USA, Bar Harbour.. It is a buzzing little town, very touristy, but very pretty, Bar Harbour is part of the Desert Islands, its really nice seeing seals pop there heads out of the water everywhere. We are all happy that the temperature is warming up as we didn't have the nicest weather in Canada which is a big shame, We are slowly heading towards Boston as guests are arriving in the first week of August !

James and I had two days off exploring the town, they have a great bus system which is free you can see most of the Island, there are lots of hiking trails but we decided to go on a 4 hour Kayaking tour yesterday which was fantastic lots of seal spotting and it was great to get off the boat and do some exercise ! We are both aching a little today :)

Nova Scotia To Shelbourne
07/18/2011, Canada

Well I have thought to myself that it is time to start making an effort with the Blog, although we do have a good excuse, we are working all day which keeps us very busy and also can't get onto the internet.

We had a fantastic time in Nova Scotia we spent our last few days with Nakesa, Graham, Phaedra, Aston and Atlanta thanks for the lovely Birthday present it was a candy bra, I haven't got through it yet maybe i need some help from somebody ? We said our goodbyes we then sailed down to Lunenburg which was a pretty little harbour, very small and touristy, we spotted an Aussie boat so James and I went over to say Hello, Trevor and Annie who were a lovely couple who are sailing North to the colder climates, they have been sailing for years even sailed the Northwest passage and wintered in the ice for 4 months :( No thanks !

We then sailed from Lunenburg to Shelbourne to meet back up with our friends from Halifax Barbara and Mike who have just purchased a lovely house, We had the full guided tour finishing off the night with wine and cheese thank you for your lovely hospitatility ! Barbara we hope your operation comes sooner rather than later so you can get your knees sorted out !

Let's hope it starts to heat up we are missing the Caribbean weather !

This shot was taken on a wet and cold day up in the Brador Lakes, I think it rained everyday in the fortnight we were cruising. We didn't get to see much wildlife no Moose but lots of Moose Poo, Alan and Sue spotted a beaver and no whale sightings a little disappointed but we did see lots of birds including this big boy !

We spent two days on Anchor at MacNabs Island its only a couple of miles south of the Yacht Squadron, James and Alan went walking one afternoon on the island they saw lots of Birds, the backside of a Deer and Seals in the distance using the binoculars, damn I should have gone but I was working hard baking cakes and writing a 10 day menu plan for when the guests arrive on Saturday. I made my first ever Corn Chowder which came from the Lovely Barbara a local Nova Scotian lady who was moored up across from us in Harbour on a Yacht called Nelleke ! They have a cook book out which is called Son of a Sea cook and it was the first recipe I have tried is Delish ! I will definately be trying more recipes from the book ! Thanks for running us around as well ! I just can't believe how friendly everyone is in this part of the world people will do anything to help you !! I love it !

BBQ at Leslie's House
06/04/2011, Canada

yes, i say Leslie's house, We met a lovely guy Ale who works at the Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron, He invited us over to his girlfriend's house (Leslie) for a BBQ ! We had a lovely night met all the family, it was strange because we had never met his girlfriend either but everyone was and is so friendly. After the BBQ we went out into town, It's a little expensive because you have to pay just to get into the bars then it is about 8 bucks for a beer , James wanted to stay out all night luckily i dragged him back to the boat, oh god i'm sounding old, I don't want to spend my days off work hungover plus i wanted to go shopping !
