I couldn't believe how much grows on this Island you could just have a little shack and live off the land, We saw cashew nut trees, almond trees, huge avocado's trees, mangoes, grapefruits, bananas, coconuts the list goes on.
We bought passion fruits and made some juice and it was delish all you need is 1 litre of water , 3 tablespoons of sugar and around 6 passion fruits boil it up and mix with a whisk, then let it cool and refrigerate , I will definitely be making that again.
This is a picture of all the different flavored rums you can buy !

We had a lovely sail from Grand Anse dropped the hook and rowed ashore to have a lovely lunch and enjoy the view all afternoon, This place has so much character, nice hikes and a small little town, it wiped out 30,000 people in 2mins in 1902, 2 people survived a guy in jail and someone in a cellar ! Unfortunately we don't have the time to explore because we need to head north to pick James mum up at the end of the month but its a must if you can get here !!

Just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, We were hoping to go to the Club Med in Martinique on Christmas Day but unfortunately it is booked out, So we have found another little place on the beach to have lunch and a table is booked for 10 people so we won't be spending Christmas alone.
P.S Terry James isn't biting !!!

James has managed to fix the problem with our engine the fuel line was blocked, We left the engine for a day waiting for the engineer to come back to us, but James wasn't going to sit and wait , who needs a engineer when you have a great husband who can fix everything and save us lots of money !! We have decided to stay in Martinique for Christmas as we are getting a new spray hood made and the weather isn't great heading north so why bother going anywhere when you can stay in such a beautiful place anyway ?
Here is a picture of our new installation ! Looks so good !!

Happy Christmas to you both.

A quick update, port holes in and are water tight, we spent a few nights on anchor before heading 20miles to Martinique, as soon as we dropped anchor the engine stopped so are stuck until the repairs can be fixed, Internet is poor every where we go so hard to update at the moment but piccies will be coming soon ! We are hoping to be in the le saintes for Christmas but who knows ?

12/02/2011, St Lucia
We have finally made it back in the water, We switched the engine on and unfortunately we may have a problem with our Alternator but James is on top of it all.
We have so much to do to get prepared to cross the Pacific and hopefully we are not going to get kicked out of the marina before all of the ARC Boats arrive, well they must have had good winds because the first boat arrived last night..
It is still tipping it down in St Lucia i don't think it ever stops raining here, So we are looking forward to going up the chain to get away from the rain but still have all the port holes to install.
I know this is pretty sad but take a look at this sexy new propellor we installed !!
|
|
We have been very busy over the last few days, moving stuff off sulana and back onto the boat.
The new propellor has been installed the fridge keel cooler and anti foul nearly finished, it has been tipping it down the past few days so we hope it's going to stop so we can get the final coat on or we won't be launching.
We have been staying on our friends boat whilst getting organized, Gary and Marie they are converted Aussies from Perth and have a lovely catamaran called Mai Tai, thanks for putting up with us and see you at Happy Hour !
