I think Bonaire is ranked one of the top diving sites in the world , We have spent all day today snorkeling in different spots around the island it is AMAZING ! We are loving it, but its taking its toll on all of us and we are in bed at 9pm every night ! We snuck into this beautiful resort one afternoon and had a lovely time on the beach !

The local dish must be Iguana Soup as we have seen it on a couple of menu's, but how could anyone eat this when you see them running around !

02/16/2012, Harbour Village Marina

Sitting in Bonaire Marina after 3 days at sea, We left the BVI's Norman Island around lunch time and with not a lot of wind we ended up motoring for two days, the wind finally picked up but only 15 knots with squalls. We had a ship 3 miles away from us then all of sudden I couldn't see a thing, so the radar went on from then. The night sky was amazing so many stars, we can even see the Southern Cross !

Unfortunately we had 3 fish on the line but didn't manage to land them, James is blaming the new fishing lures from Australia (thanks mum and dad) but I blame him or his technique !

We are staying in the marina so we can give the boat a wash down then we are going out to the moorings its only 10 us dollars a day, You can't anchor in Bonaire as it is National Marine Park, It has amazing diving and snorkeling, We walked up to customs yesterday and the amount of fish you can see on shore WOW !

We are going to wait a few days to see if our friends Nakesa show, if not Sunday we will leave for Aruba to wait for the weather to get to Cartagena, Columbia which is also supposed to be amazing !

No excuses James! It's a bad workman that blames his tools. We are waiting for the picture of the fish on the end of the lure xx

Hi, Good to hear that you had a good run to Bonair, we were wondering how your sail would be, across the Caribbean. Hope your next leg to Cartagena is good. Perhaps we will catch up in San Blas.

I checked this porduct out last year and it is a great product for US Coastal waters. For further afield boaters the AIS system is a better product.
