a bleak start to the day
29 April 2016 | Double Island Point
We left Mooloolaba around 7am in drizzly conditions. the swell was quite uncomfortable at times and the breeze was mostly light. However the captain managed to sail for a couple of hours in the middle of the day and motor sailed the rest of the time. We arrived at Double Island Point at 4.30 and anchored then had to endure the swell for the night. At times very unpleasant!! There were 5 fishing trawlers wobbling around in the bay when we arrived just waiting to go off fishing around 5.30pm. They were back this morning when we awoke. There are also plenty of 4 wheel drive vehicles running up and down Rainbow Beach.
