Georgetwon Vacation
06 April 2013 | Georgetown Exuma
Toby Hynes
After a two day vacation for weather in Georgetown, Exuma(yes, I know, we are a sail boat and want weather), we are dropping the electric cords, pulling the lines, and headed north east toward Nasaau. Our route will probably take us out of the ocean as far north as we can make it today until about 4:00 when we will cross over into the bank. Depending on visibility and weather, we will either cross the Exuma Bank in the night or hole up for a few hours, and the cross. It’s raining hard right now so we will pull the lines as soon as it stops. As the front will have passed, light winds for four days should make the balance of or crossing fairly safe..
We have had a “Movie Night”. Mel Gibson killed a bunch of redcoats in Patriot. Norm spent a lot of yesterday entering way points. He complains of finger fatigue and wants today off. Tom Trimmer could only find three things to fix so we are heading to sea to break some more things for tomorrow. John led us, yesterday, on a tour of our adjacent communities…a Sandals Resort (very high end). As it was, all inclusive, we could not buy lunch, but we enjoyed their beach and walking through their property. Ron, having headed home, missed the extra lazy day in Georgetown. We will miss him, especially at 6-10AM and 8-10PM…his shifts. We will now all work a little harder.
