Land Ho
08 November 2015
We are closingin on our last day on the water. The night shift has gone well. I know that we should approach land in a few hours.Off to the right I see a light. No, a blinking light. I yell Land Ho...what won't I do to win four bucks out of the betting pool. I ask Norm to check the chart, I count the time the light goes on and off...five seconds. Norm confirms. I am a rich man...at least in bragging rights.
It turns out John Driscoll guessed the time. Jack then wins on the best guess for entry (6:14 AM), and we are on the dock at 8:14. We are having eggs ala Driscoll with the left over sausage, when the S/V Sargo, pulls up behind us. They went out, across the Gulf Stream, dead into the thirty knot winds, when we turned south along the coast. Lory said...it was so rough that at one point she just cried. Thank you for a better route Seth!
