Down The East River

The girls left us...literally. Crew member Mark Peters joined us, brought his wife for a visit and as we were off for what turned out to be a quick stay in Sandy Hook, New Jersey, the girls all left. What was going to be, perhaps the most spectacular of days...after 6 days of the best fall weather ever, was a day of fog. The East river is a real challenge. Danny, from Boat US, told us to hit the Throgs Neck Bridge at one hour before high tide. we did and teh trip was uneventful. There were a few logs (railroad ties), there was some current through Hell Gate, but the trip was uneventful. It was still a foggy magnificence. The United Nations, the Brooklyn Bridge, The Statue of Liberty. What more could you want.
