Headed to hampton

Weather, the one undeniable change, left us in Sandy Hook< new Jersey for two nights. Waiting for a front to work through and give us fair winds, we decide to take off on the morning of the ninth. Hampton here we come. Well, Annapolis here come. As we moved past the fabulous view of New York in our rear quarter, we kept getting weather updates of a faster moving Karen...the Gulf Streams first Tropical storm of the season. It's only befitting that we ended up in Block Island going north because of a similar storm. Now we are making plans to go up the Delaware Bay, cross the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal and make Annapolis and Jabin Yacht Yard in the day light.
But, the real story was about getting out of Sandy Hook. We were in an enclosed dock-age. The wind, moving from the North was pinning us in the Marina. The tide, eight feet, was running three knots. Mark Peters found two hands from the boat yard. He orchestrated an exit like you have never seen before or will ever see again., We basically walked Comocean around the enormous pilings, used the guard rail and at the right moment charged full speed into the channel. NOT A SCRATCH...thank you Mark, Norm and the two handy yardsmen!
