La Paz

Back in La Paz after 2 months in Seattle. Cold and rainy to hot. I will be doing hard labor in the yard for the next few days then CR will do the splash. Just read the blog from Discovery and they have had some serious boat issues. Hope that is the end of that. I have a dirty boat, some bottom painting [...]

Walla Walla

Larry loaned me his 2003 Ford Focus and I made the 5 hr drive in comfort. Arrived relaxed and ready to eat and visit with Mom, Vanessa, Kevin and watch Rubin play video games. Mon was in good health and spirits. Kevin has a really nice Fender acoustic that he let me play. It was great to hang and get to know Vanessa and Kevin better.

Loreto

02 May 2012
Two nights in Loreto then off to isla Coronados to anchor in the lee of the Island for protection from the swell that will come up from the North winds that are predicated.
The wind did come up from the north so Coronados turned out to be a good choice there are several other boats here taking advantage of the protection. Not a big deal but Loreto would be bumpy because it is exposed on all sides but the West. Had another good sail in 12 to 15 kt winds.

Sailed to Puerti de la Lancha with the last of the north wind. La Lancha is exposed to the north and the swell lasted much longer than I anticipated so it was a rolly night cause the wind died and I was to lazy to put out a stern anchor. The swell laid down by early morning and 3 boats came in to anchor . after a few hrs they decided to weigh anchor and go elsewhere, I think some people were seasick on one of the boats and it was nice by then.

Sailed to Bahia Salinas in SE 8 to 10 knots. Sailed about 15 miles but had to motor the last 2.5 miles to anchor off the old salt mine.
