Deep Blue

Living The Dream

We wish you could smell this photo

05 April 2014
Back in Sicily and our neighbour Dan knocked on the boat to ask if we wanted to share a big bag of fresh tomatoes that the security guard on the marina gate had given him as a gift. They were freshly picked that morning and I wish this the photo was one of those Scratch and Sniff pictures because they smell soooooooooo good and taste sweet and juicy, just like tomatoes used to before the supermarkets started to control everything and started offering pale red balls that taste of nothing. This is typical of life in Sicily, the locals eat fresh food that they’ve either grown themselves or has been produced locally and they are very happy to share it with us so that we can taste it too.
