Wedding attire on the east coast
23 June 2014
On Sunday, we were treated to an exhibition of local craft and folklore by towns on the east coast. As well as tasting all kinds of dishes made from cousous, from savoury to sweet, we were able to see the different wedding garments from each region. The grooms attire was a simple long, white robe but the brides were, for the most part, very colourful and elaborate. In the main picture, the two girls are wearing what all the girls attending a wedding would wear. In Mahdia, we saw a wedding dress being woven that was black silk with red, white and green patterns woven into the black.
