A Quick Update
23 October 2012 | Sines, Portugal
John
At the moment we are in Sines, Portugal, after a pretty bad trip down the coast with a previous stop-over in the small Spanish town of Camarinas.
Our radio (which I use for transmitting these blog reports) worked when we were in Brighton but, as soon as we departed, all went dead on me. I have been sitting most of this morning re-wiring the entire installation - from antenna to control cables to power - and, if you read this on the blog, it was transmitted from Sines onto the internet using the radio, which now appears to be working well again. Touch wood that it continues to do so as we really need the HF radio for our weather updates.
I have been monitoring the weather, waiting for a very large low to pass and it looks like we should be "good to go" on Friday morning. If no updates appear on the blog, we have again lost the use of the HF radio and I will post an update once we reach a port with reliable internet.
So, hold thumbs for the continued working of the radio. Regards from Dylan, Mark (who joined us in Brighton), Jason and myself, John.
