Now we are back on the coast, we no longer use the ships e-mail system that Ocens.net provided me. So all future e-mails should be sent to the crew personal e-mail address. I want to thank everyone that followed us from Hawaii to Morro Bay via htis blog and a special thanks to all of you that sent us e-mails. Getting news from family and friend out in the middle of nowhere, was, and is, a big moral booster1 Thanks again.
I'm STILL chasing the keyboard, however, this time not due to the seas but in trying to adapt my inner ear to solid ground! Yeekks! Even the monitor is rolling from side to side! In the next day or so I'll have videos and still pics of the trip and our entering Morro Bay. Plus a couple of you wanted to know what is was like as you are about to do the same, I'll try to post some helpful hints and don't for you. Bear in mind what works for one may not work for others. I had a great crew! The best anyone could ask for, no hassles or bitching and we were still laughing together after 25 days. That alone is amazing as I have had some real winners on board before.

We are now docked at the Morro Bay Yacht Club!!!!

We cleared the breakwater at 8:30 am yesterday morning to shouts and yells from our friends and my wife,Jane. We really lucked out weather wise as we woke to calm seas light winds, a perfect morning for entering Morro Bay. Todays forecast is back to 20 to 30 knots of wind and boy!, are we glad to be in a calm harbor!! Walking on land after 25 days is a hoot as we all look like drunken sailors with our sea legs. And we were not,yet. Today is clean up day, as we slowly build up some steam. Jim bailed out in th wee hours to head back to Arizona so it is just Mike and Val on board. Later on today or tomorrow, I'll post photos in thw gallery of the trip.
Land sure feels weird but good!

We now have about 92 miles to go. Wild night, big swells, 25+ knots was the wind but this morning,mellower wind and seas, heading for the entrance to Morro BaY! Still planning on at noon arrival tomorrow, Wednesday. See ya there!

Sorry for not updating sooner but right now it's tough just hanging on. Confused seas and winds around 25 or so. But we are making good time,123 miles for our 24hr. run yesterday, which is from 9 am to 9 am. Weather gods permitting, I should have her tied up at the Morro Bay Yacht Club dock around noon on Wednesday. We did slow down late yesterday afternoon, by furling the ngenny, and running under a triple reefed main and staysail. Even so we are making 3 to 4 knots which will put us at Morro Bay at 8 am Wednesday. Let's say late morning early afternoon. I'll posted again tomorrow with a better update. This morning we broke the 400 mile barrier! And, as an added bonus, the winds shifted around to the northwest. Now we have 10 to 15 kts off our port 1/4, on a direct course to Morro Bay. Making 4.5 to 5.5 knots, still looking at the first part of the week, mid-week at the latest. Hopefully the high winds and fog will be gone when we land. No boat problems(knock on wood)at this point and we are still having fun enjoying the trip. Finally, after 4 days of gray skies,we are sailing under and on the bluest of blues I have ever seen! Truely amazing and breathtaking vistas. Jim and Mike are out back readying a lure in hoopes of catching some more albrcore. Val is playing mario Brothers and I just crawled out of my favorite spot, the engine room. Can't think of anything else so.... till tomorrow Lynn
