Visiting our Climbing Expedition base of 2001

15 August 2017 | 60 05.2'N:43 447.42'W, Sangmissiq Island, South Greenland
Andy : 8kts wind, 20 degrees and blue skies
Yesterday we visited a large island called Christian IV , there we explored an old natural stone shelter, used by the Inuit whilst on hunting trips and we finally managed to catch a few Arctic Char (A type of sea trout). Today we have been walking on the island of Sangmissoq where our climbing expediiton of 2001 took place; the place is still unspoilt, after 4 hours of walking we have not seen a single piece of rubbish, in fact since leaving Tassilaq 1,600km ago we have met one person and apart from abandoned dwellings no litter. The weather continues to be fantastic, todays photo is from a hill 360m above Destiny anchored where Samen, our old yacht, was 16 years ago.
